About Nuclear Medicine Exams and Therapies

Meet the Doctor
Nuclear medicine is going through a renaissance and we now have more cancer-specific diagnostic tools and treatment options available than ever before. We use specialized imaging to better understand disease states and ensure we are selecting the right treatment for the right patient. Every patient and every cancer is different and my practice's approach to personal, precision, and data driven medicine allows us to treat it that way.
James Cassuto, MD, PhD is a dual boarded diagnostic radiologist and nuclear medicine physician. He is the Associate System Medical Director of Nuclear Medicine for the Atlantic Medical Group (AMG) and is the Section Chief of Nuclear Medicine at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ. Including his practice at Overlook Medical Center, Dr. Cassuto and built and developed two regional leading theranostics programs from the ground up.
Dr. Cassuto has research and academic interests in nuclear medicine therapies, advanced PET imaging of brain tumors, PET radiomics for predicting tumor response to therapy, and teaching medical students and radiology residents and fellows. In addition, Dr. Cassuto has business interests in medical innovation, and is the co-founder of a medical device start-up seeking to advance minimally invasive and interventional surgical techniques in the urology space.
When not at the office, Dr. Cassuto enjoys spending time with his wife and sons (and English Mastiff), serving as cub scout den leader, playing the saxophone, and hiking.
